Salt Lake City: June 30, 2016

How satisfied I am for waking up at 5:30AM today for an introductory class on Kalari, an ancient form of martial arts originating in India.

Tim, the owner of Upstairs Yoga, invited me for a 6am class after hosting a kirtan potluck for our group of traveling Krishna devotees at his studio. Along with his private (free) class, he gave me a reading from an astrology chart according to my birth date and time. Unfortunately, all i could remember was that I’m a Pisces in Jupiter and I resonate with citrine stones.

I proceeded to stay for the 7am class which became an extended Kalari class. Then I stayed for an Ashtanga class for another hour. By 9am, my body was intoxicated with kinetic energy and I impulsively registered for their upcoming week-long yoga retreat on Maui when he offered the class a one-time discount for anyone who signed up now.

I gave him my deposit that afternoon.
